FAQ
Here you get the answers for all the most popular questions we have from our clients. Other questions please contact us at info@lashheroine.com or direct message us on our Instagram @lashheroine
We strictly follow these rules.
How do I book an appointment?
You can book your appointment in our online booking page or by contact our lash artist (Norah) directly via her instagram: @lashheroine (we prefer this way as our lash artist can directly answer all your questions and get updated first thing if you want to change your appointment or you have any other follow up question).
In case you don't have an IG account or have trouble with booking online, you can also message the lash artist directly at 647-673-5399 (text only).
Do I have to deposit for my appointments?
We require a deposit for your first 3 appointments with us ($50 for a lash service, and $300-$500 for a lash training), after that you don't have to deposit anymore. However, cancellation policy still applies to regular clients even if we don't need your deposit.

Deposit will be deducted in the service fee the day you come. Please refer to the question "What is your cancellation policy?" to see in which case you can take your deposit back.
Which payment methods do you take?
We take cash, etransfer or Debit at the salon.
Can I bring someone to the appointment?
Yes, you can!

We have a large nail salon with enough room to cater for your family or friends. However, they have to wait in the salon instead of in the lash room until your appointment is complete.
What is your cancellation policy?
For cancellation or changes made within 72 hours for ANY REASON:
Please let us know by text that you will need to cancel and reschedule your next appointment online if you wish to come back another day – we are unable to refund the deposit nor transfer it towards the next appointment.

For cancellation or changes made with over 72 hours notice:
You are able to change the appointment day/time with us. $20 of your deposit ($50) can be carried forward to the next appointment. An admin fee $30 will be charged for cancel/reschedule the appointment.
How long does it take?
A new set of classic eyelash extensions usually takes no more than 2 hours.

The full volume set might take a bit longer if you have a lot of natural lashes.
All refills usually take up a little bit less time if you come regularly (about 2-3 weeks max). Any other designed set (Wispy, Eyeliner, Anime styles) might take up to 3 hours to complete. Please make sure you communicate with our lash artist for the appointment time.

It is important to maintain your lashes well so that you can be filled up to your original set in the time allocated.
Am I a good candidate for eyelash extension?
Short answer: If you have natural eyelashes, you can get lash extensions.

Long answer: If your natural lashes are in good health and you have no hair-loss conditions, sensitivities, or allergies, then you should be able to get lash extensions!

But…how do you know for sure?

Our lash artist will carefully look at your natural lash line during your consultation.
If she finds eyelash extensions aren’t a good fit for you, she can offer tips and expert advice so, if it’s possible, you can work on getting your lash line- ready for next time.
Do you offer gift certificates?
Yes, we do.
How come we are not on your side when it’s time for you to show your appreciation to your loved ones.? :)

We have established a close relationship with our clients over the years, and every time our client buys a gift certificate for their loved ones, we are so excited that we would skywrite “You Rocks” above the CN Tower.
Well, if our lash artist can learn how to fly we will do that!
What style of eyelash extensions should I get?
Most of our clients who get their lashes done for the first time don't know what style they want.

They normally describe it as "full/natural/long/..."

or show us pictures they found on the internet.

We will try to find out what you are looking for by asking you these questions:
+ Do you want the extensions done for an event or day-to-day life? (Dramatic look vs natural look)
+ Do you want it to look full or would you prefer a one/two coat mascara look?
+ Is this your first time getting eyelash extensions?
= Do you want to have a nice subtle look or an eye-catching dramatic look?
Questions we as technicians will ask ourselves (secretly - a lot of calculations going on in our mind)
+Does she have healthy natural lashes to support that design she wants?
+What's her eye shape?
+What's the direction of her eyelashes? (Downward, upward, or straight)
+What's the best length, thickness, and curls of lash extensions for her?
Different technicians using different names and different customized maps. The best way to discover is to look at the portfolio of our work and to consult with us.

However, everyone has their expectation of how it turns out at the end.

And even though we try our best to do what we think you want; it still takes a few times of experiments until we get exactly the style you had in your mind.

So if you want to get extensions for a super special event and you are a perfectionist, like me, we recommend you visit us at least once before attending the event.
Can I get that dramatic style?
I gotcha.

A strong woman knows how to take care of herself. She doesn't allow drama in her life.

Unless it's in her lashes, of course!

Let's assume that your technician is an experienced artist and knows how to do a dramatic style - that variable is fixed in this equation- then your natural lashes will determine how dramatic your finished look can be.

People who already have damaged, weak, and short natural lashes or have only a few lashes, can't always get as dramatic of a look as a client with strong, thick lashes.

However, you can still achieve a gorgeous, fluttery fringe if you keep your expectations reasonable and your standards high.

A good technician with good products will take her time to perfect her work!
How do I know if my technician is the right one?
Luckily, finding the right lash technician is not as hard as finding a life partner.

The lash industry has bloomed in the past couple of years. Just like with any beauty service, do your research. Ask yourself:

Is your lash artist certified? How long has she been doing it? Does she do it regularly?
Pay attention to how you feel after having your lashes done.

Signs your extensions are applied poorly or could be better:

+ You are not able to brush through your extensions.
+ The application burns your eyes, throughout and after the process.
+ Your eyelash extensions poke and irritate your eyes.
+ The extensions are too heavy for you.
Signs you should talk to your technician or even consider changing one.

+They hurt!
+You start seeing bald spot on your lash line where you normally have natural lashes before
+When your lash shed, you can see multiple lash roots attached to your extensions.
+The extensions are too big/long compared to your natural lash.

Skilled people and quality supplies come at a cost!

After all, if you want a quality tattoo or gorgeous hair color, you wouldn't hunt for a bargain. The same rule applies when seeking out a lash tech.

How often should I get extensions infills?
If you are wondering when the right time is to get lash extensions and a lash refill, know that it can vary based on your lash cycle, your level of maintenance and your everyday personal habits.

The better you take care of them – the longer they will last!

Usually and ideally, you should come back for an infill after 2 or 3 weeks.

During this period, not a lot of your lashes will shed, and they will still be easy to work with.

Don't wait too long to get an infill (more than 3.5 weeks), it might become a full set!
Will the extensions damage my natural lashes?
If they are applied correctly and safely, with high-quality products, and with the right care from your side, your eyelashes should not be damaged.

The choice of having extensions is like other beauty choices you make.

Whether it is dying your hair, tanning your skin, getting Botox/ filler.

Many variables come into play.
What can you do to minimize the risk?
+ Find a trustworthy technician!
+ Properly consult with your technician to find what is best for you
+ Learn how to maintain your extensions safely
All these can be achieved by consulting with an experienced technician :)
Do you accept walk-ins? How can I book an appointment with you?
You can message us to book an appointment (647-673-5399) or DM us on our IG @lashheroine

Although we are happy to take walk-ins anytime we can, we prefer setting up an appointment with you to make sure our technician can spend quality time to serve you and minimize your waiting time.

We are like the fox in The Little Prince story, “if you come at four o'clock in the afternoon, then at three o'clock I shall begin to be happy. But if you come at just any time, I shall never know at what hour my heart is to be ready to greet you . . . One must observe the proper rites..." J
How do you know what’s the best style for me?
Based on your eyes' shape, your natural lash health, your reference for style, and whatever information you give us, we can always try to figure out what's the best for you considering all factors.

But wait. Remember at some point in your love life you thought that guy was your type, but later it turned out he wasn’t?

It's not uncommon that after a while both our clients and us will try a different curl, different styling. It's fair to let you try different styles until you get the one that you like the most.

So please talk to your technician if you change your interest!
What should I do before going to a lash appointment?
+ Clean Your Lashes: Gently cleanse your eyelashes to remove any makeup, oils, or residue. Use a lash-safe cleanser or a mild, oil-free eye makeup remover. Clean lashes provide a better surface for the lash extensions to adhere to.

+ No Caffeine and Stimulants: as it can cause eye twitching or restlessness during the appointment.

+ Arrive on Time: Be punctual for your appointment. Arriving on time allows your lash artist to provide the best service without feeling rushed.

+ Consultation: If it's your first time getting lash extensions or you're trying a new style, be prepared to discuss your preferences and expectations during a consultation with your lash artist. Bring pictures or examples if you have a specific look in mind.

+ Wear Comfortable Clothing: Choose clothing that's comfortable and doesn't have a high collar, as this will allow you to recline comfortably during the application process.

+ Remove Contact Lenses: If you wear contact lenses, it's a good idea to remove them, this ensures your eyes remain comfortable throughout the process.

+ Silence Your Phone: To ensure a peaceful and distraction-free environment, silence your phone or put it on vibrate.

+ Allergic Reactions: If you've had allergic reactions to lash extensions in the past, discuss this with your technician and consider an allergy test before the appointment.
